How to setup OpenVPN
1. Download OpenVPN from the following link:
https://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html
2. You will then want to install the following version
3. The wizard will then open after you have downloaded the file
4. Leave as boxes as default and hit ‘Next’
5. Await as the program installs.
6. Untick ‘Show Readme’ and then click ‘Finish’
7. Open your browser and navigate to https://secure.makonetworks.com/
Input your credentials, and click ‘Login’
8. You should be brought to this screen. Find the VPN you wish to use and hit connect.
9. This will start downloading the config file
10. On your task bar, click ‘Show hidden icons’
11. Right click the icon of a computer with a lock on it, then click ‘Import file’
12. Browse to the config file which just downloaded, it should be stored in downloads. Click it, then click open.
13. Right click the OpenVPN icon again, and click ‘Connect’
14. Enter your VPN credentials, hit ‘save password’ then hit ‘OK’
15. You should then get a windows notification saying the VPN has connected.
16. If you are still having issues connecting via the VPN, please open the .ovpn file with Notepd or other text editors and add the following lines in between nobind and <ca> as show below;
nobind
redirect-gateway def1
dhcp-option DNS 8.8.8.8
<ca>
